ಪುಣ್ಯಾಹ-

ಪುಣ್ಯಾಹ -- ಅಪವಿತ್ರತೆಯನ್ನು ತೊಳೆದು ಪವಿತ್ರೀಕರಿಸುವುದು.

ನೊವೆಂಬರ ಮಾಸ ಬಂದರೇ ಎಲ್ಲೆಡೆ ಸಂಬ್ರಮದ ಗಾಳಿ, ಇಡೀ ಭರತದಲ್ಲಲ್ಲ ಬರೇ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ, ಹಾ ಬಹಳ ಮಂದಿಗೇ ಕನ್ನಡ ಹಾಗು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಆಗ ಮಾತ್ರ ಗುರುತಿಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತದ್ದೇ.ಎಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಡಿದರು ರಸ್ತೆ ತಡೆದು ಶಮಿಯಾನ ಹಾಕಿರುತ್ತಾರೇ, ಭುವನೇಶ್ವರಿಯ ಒಂದು ಭಾವ ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಹೂವಿನ ಅಲಂಕರ, ರಜಕುಮರರ ಭವ್ಯ ಹಾಡುಗಳು. ಇಷ್ಟೇನಾ ನಾಡ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಹುಮ್ಮಸ್ಸು. ಇದರಿಂದಾ ಕನ್ನಡ ಉಳಿಯುತ್ತಿದೆಯೇ ಅಥವ ಬೆಳೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆಯೇ, ವಿಚಾರಾರ್ಹ ವಿಷಯ ಇದು.
ಇನ್ನು ಭಷಣಗಾರರೋ ನಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಿಯ ರಾಜಕಾರಿಣಿಗಳು, ಅವರಿಂದ ಭಾಷೆಯ ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ದೂರದ ಮಾತು ಬರೇ ಶೋಷಣೆ ಮಾತ್ರ. "ಅ"ಕಾರಕ್ಕು "ಹ"ಕಾರಕ್ಕು ವ್ಯತ್ಯಾಸವೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ನಾಲ್ಕು ಸಾಲಿನ ಭಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಲಿಗೇ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಆಂಗ್ಲ ಪದಗಳ ಬಳಿಕೇ.ಇವರಿಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ ಚಿತ್ರ ನಟರು, ಅವರ ಪಾಡೋ ಆ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತು. ಬಹಳ ನಟರು ಕನ್ನಡದವರೇ ಅಲ್ಲ ಉಳಿದವರು ಕನ್ನಡದವರೇ ಆದರು ಭಷೆಯಿಂದ ವಂಚಿತರು ಪಾಪ.ಹೀಗಿದೆ ನಮ್ಮ ನಾಡಹಬ್ಬದ ಧುಂಧುಭೀ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಲಿಗೇ ಮಾತ್ರ ನೆಡೆಯುತ್ತದ್ದೆ.
ಒಂದು ಬಾರಿ ನಾನು ನಮ್ಮ ರಸ್ತೇಕೊನೆ ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸ್ತವ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಹಾದು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ಒಬ್ಬ ಹೇಸರಾಂತ ಕನ್ನಡ ನಟರು ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು, ನಾರಾಯಣ ನಾನು ಕಿವುಡನಾಗಿದ್ದರೇ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಚಂದಾವಾಗಿರುತ್ತಿತ್ತು ಅಂದು ಕೊಂಡೆನು. ಅಂತಾ ಹೊಲಸು ಪ್ರಯೋಗ. ಇವರೇಲ್ಲ ಭಾಷಾಭಿಮಾನಿಗಳಂತೇ. ಧನ್ಯ ಕನ್ನಡ ಮಾತೇ. ಅಂದಿನಿಂದಾ ಎನೋ ಅಸಡ್ಡೆ ನನಗೇ ನಮ್ಮ ಚಿತ್ರರಂಗದಮೆಲೆ.
ಇತ್ತೀಚಿನ ಚಲನ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟ ನೋಡಿದರೆ ವಿಷಾದನೀಯ. ಯೆಲ್ಲದರಲ್ಲು ಹೊಡೆದಾಟ, ಹಿಂಸೆ, ಪ್ರಚೋದಕ ವಿಷಯಗಳೇ ತಪ್ಪ ಬಾಂದವ್ಯ, ಭಕ್ತಿ, ಧರ್ಮ, ವೈವಿದ್ಯಮಯತೆ ಇಲ್ಲ. ತುಚ್ಹ ಭಷಾ ಪ್ರಯೋಗ, ಬ್ರಷ್ಟ ನಟನೆ, ಅಂಗಾಂಗ ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನ ಹಾಗು ಹೀನ ಸಂದೇಶ ಸಾರುವ ಈ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳನ್ನ ನೊಡದೇ ಇರುವುದೇ ಲೇಸು. ಇಂತಹ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳನ್ನ ಪ್ರೊತ್ಸಾಹಿಸುವುದೇ ಪರಮ ಪಾಪ.
ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಯಿತು ಆ ಗತ ವೈಭವ, ರೋಮಾಂಚಕರಿಸುವ ನಟನೆ, ಕರ್ಣಾನಂದದ ಸಂಗೀತ , ಆಸ್ವಾದನೀಯ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ . ಜನರು ವಿಕಾಸದೆಡೆಗೆ ಹೊರೆಟರಂದರೆ ಕೇವಲ ದೈಹಿಕ ಹಾಗು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಸ್ತಿತಿಗತಿಗಳಲ್ಲ ಇದರೊಡನೆ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಹಾಗು ತಾತ್ವಿಕ ಚಿಂತನೆಯಲ್ಲು.ಆಗಲೇ ಅದು ಪರಿಪೂರ್ಣ ವಿಕಾಸವೆನಿಸುವುದು.
ಆಗಿಂದಾಗ ನಾನು ಇದರ ಬಗ್ಗೇ ಯೋಚಿಸುತ್ತಿನಿ. ಇತ್ತೀಚಿನ ಕಲಾಗಾರರಿಗೇ ಕ್ರಿಯಾತ್ಮಕ ಚೈತನ್ಯ ಕ್ಷಿತಿಲಗೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಬಾಹ್ಯ ಪ್ರಪಂಚದ ಅರಿವು ಇಲ್ಲವಾಗಿದೇ. "ಬಾಹ್ಯ" ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಯೋಗದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ವಿದೇಶದತ್ತ ಅಲ್ಲ ನೈಸರ್ಗಿಕ ಅವಲೋಕನ ಎಂದು. ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ರಚನಕಾರರಿಗೆ ಇಂಥಾ ಅನುಭವ ಬಹಳ ಮುಖ್ಯಾ. ಅವರು ನಿಸರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸಿದಾಗ ಮಾತ್ರ ಭಾವನಾತೀತವಾಗಿ ಸಹಿತ್ಯ ತನಗೇ ತಿಳಿಯದಂತೆ ತನ್ನ ಮನಸಿನೊಳಗೆ ಬೀಜ ಬಿತ್ತು ಹೋರಹೊಮ್ಮುವುದು.ಇದರ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಅವನು ಜ್ಞಾನದ ಬಂಡಾರವನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಭಿಂಭಿಸಬೇಕು. ಪುರಾಣ ಪುಣ್ಯ ಕಥೇಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದರೆ ಇನ್ನು ಒಳ್ಳೇಯದೆ. ನೀತಿಪಾಟ ಅಮರಕೋಶ ಇವು ಅವನ ಬಾಯಿಪಾಟ. ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯಾಅನ್ನೋದು ಇದರ ಕಂದ.
ನಮ್ಮ ವಿಜಯನಾರಸಿಂಹ,ಜಿ.ವಿ.ಅಯ್ಯರ್,ಚಿಉ ಇವರನ್ನೆಲ್ಲ ನೆನೆದರೆ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ನೋವ್ವುಂಟಾಗುವುದು. ಎಂಥಾ ಹಾಡುಗಳು ಅವು, ಒಂದೊಂದು ಆಣಿಮುತ್ಯಗಳು. ಇತ್ತೀಚಿನ ಗೀತೇಯೋಂದನ್ನ ಕೇಳಿ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೇ ಬಹಳ ಬೇಸರವಾಯಿತು,
ನಟಃ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಅಪ್ಪಯೇನು ಟೆರರಿಸ್ಠಾ
ನಟಿಃ ಯಾಕೇ
ನಟಃ ನಿನ್ನಂತ ಬಾಂಬನ್ನ ತಯಾರಿಸಿದ್ದಾನಲ್ಲ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ.
ಎಂಥ ವಿಪರ್ಯಾಸ ನೋಡಿ. ಇಂಥ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯಾ ಹಾಗು ಕರ್ಣಖಠೋರ ಸಂಗೇತ. ಎಲ್ಲಿಂದಾ ಉಳಿವಿಕೆ ಇದೇ ಹೇಳಿ ಈ ಭಾಷೆಗೆ. ಹಿಂದೆ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಹಾಡೆಂದರೆ ಅದಕ್ಕೇ ತಕ್ಕಮಟ್ಟದ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯಾ, ಸಂಗೀತ ಹಾಗು ನರ್ತನ ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿರುವುದು. ಆ ನಟರೋ ಕಣ್ಣಿನಲ್ಲೇ ಎಲ್ಲ ಭಾವನೆಗಳನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
ಸ ಪ ಸಾ ತಿಳಿಯದ ಸಂಗೀತಗಾರರು. ಯಲ್ಲವು ಪಾಶ್ಚಿಮಾತ್ಯ ಸಂಗೀತದ ಮಿಶ್ರಣ, ಸ್ವಾವಲಂಬನೆ ಇಲ್ಲ. ನಮ್ಮ ಸಾಮವೇದ ಸಾರವಾಗಿರುವ ನಾದ ಯಾರಿಗು ಬೇಡ. ಕೆಲವರಿಗೆ ಸಂಗೀತ ಸಾಮವೇದಸಾರ ಅನ್ನೋದು ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲಿ.
ಇನ್ನು ಆ ನಟ ನಟಿಯರೋ ಯಾವ ಭಾಷೇಯವರು ಬೇರೇ ಭಷೇಯ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಟಿಸುವುದೆ ಹೆಚ್ಹು. ಆ ಪಾತ್ರಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೇಗೆ ಜೇವ ತುಂಬುತ್ತಾರೋ ಅದು ಇನ್ನು ನಿಘುಢ. ಇದರಿಂದಲೇ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಆ ಪ್ರಾವೀಣ್ಯತೇ ದೋರಕದೇ ಹೋಗುವುದು.
ಅಥವಾ ಹೊಡೆದಾಟ ಇಲ್ಲ ಪ್ರೇಮ ಇವೆರಡೇ ರಸ ಪ್ರದಾನದಲ್ಲಿರುವುದು. ಬೇರೆ ರಸಗಳೆಲ್ಲ ಮಲಗಿವೆ. ನವರಸಗಳಲ್ಲು ತನ್ನ ಜಾಣ್ಮೆಯನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುವವನೇ ನಿಜವಾದ ನಟ.
ಇನ್ನು ಹಸ್ಯಾ, ಅದು ಪರಮ ಹೀನಾಯ. ಕೇವಲ ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದರೆ ಸಾಕು ನಗು ಬರುತಿತ್ತು ಹಿಂದೆ. ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನ ಅವಾಚ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಹಂಗಿಸುವುದು, ಅಲ್ಪ ಭಾಷೇಯ ಉಪಯೋಗ ಇದೇಲ್ಲ ಹೇಗೆ ಹಾಸ್ಯವಾದಿತು.ಹೋಗಲಿ ಆ ನಟರಾದರು ನೋಡಲು ಚೇನ್ನಾಗಿರುತ್ತರೋ ಅದೂ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಎಲ್ಲಿದೇ ಹಾಸ್ಯ.
ದಿಕ್ಕೇಟ್ಟ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರು, ರಸಹೀನ ತಂಡ ಎಲ್ಲಿಂದಾ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ಕೊಡಬಲ್ಲದು ಹೇಳಿ. ಸುಲಭವಾಗಿ ಜನರಮೇಲೇ ಸಲ್ಲದ ಅಪವಾದವನ್ನು ಹೋರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೇ ಈ ಚಿತ್ರಕಾರರು. ಯಾರನ್ನಾದರು ಕೇಳಿ "ಮಾಸ್" ಚಿತ್ರ ನೋಡಲು ಜನರ ಆಸೇ ಅನ್ನುತ್ತರೇ. ಆದರೇ ಇವರಿಗೇ ತಿಳಿಯದ ಸತ್ಯಯೇನೆಂದರೇ ಜನರು ಯಂದಿಗೂ ಉತ್ತಮ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟದ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳನ್ನೇ ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತರೇ. ಇದನ್ನು ಕೋಡುವ ಹೋಣೆ ಇವರದು.
ಭಾಷೆಯ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟವನ್ನು ಎತ್ತುವ ಜವಾಬ್ಧಾರಿ ನಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರ ಮೇಲಿದೆ. ಎಲ್ಲಿಯವರೆಗು, ಕುವೇಂಪು, ಡಿವಿಜಿ, ಬೇಂದ್ರೆ ,ಇವರ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ಕಾಲ ಮುಗಿದಿದೇ. ಇವತ್ತು ನಾವು ಅವರನ್ನ ನೆನೆಯುತ್ತೇವೆ, ಅಂಥ ಅಪಾರ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ಅವರದು. ಇವರನ್ನು ಮೀರಿಸುವ ಜನರು ಬರಬೇಕು. ಆಗ ನಾವು ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯು ವಿಕಾಸದೆಡೆಗೆ ನೆಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆಯೆಂದು.
ನಮ್ಮ ಕಿವಿಯೊಳಗೆ ಏಂದೆಂದಿಗು "ಏಲ್ಲಾದರು ಇರು ಏಂಥಾದರು ಇರು" ಹಾಡು ಗುಣಗುಟ್ಟಬೇಕು. ಚಿತ್ರ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮವನ್ನು ತೊಳೆಯುವ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು. ಜನರನ್ನು, ಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನು ಅಯೋಮಯ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಈ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮವನ್ನು ಉತ್ತಮ ಸ್ತಿತಿಗೇ ಒಯ್ಯಬೇಕು. ಇದರಿಂದ ನಮಗು ನಮ್ಮ ಕನ್ನಡಕ್ಕು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದು. ಹೊರ ಪ್ರಪಂಚಕ್ಕೇ ಕನ್ನಡವನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಈ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ಎಂದಿಗು ಕೀರ್ಥಿಯತ್ತ ಮುನ್ನೆಡೆಯಬೇಕು. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಳತೆ ಮೀರಿದ ಗುಣವುಳ್ಳ ಜನರನ್ನು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸಬೇಕು. "ಮಾಸ್ " ಅಳಿದು "ಕ್ಲಾಸ್ " ಉಳಿಯುವಂತಾಗಬೇಕು. ಇದು ಕನ್ನಡದ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ನಾಂದಿಯಾಗಬೇಕು.

Kannada Sahitya

"Kannada yene kunidaaduvudennede kannadavene kivi nimiruvudu" is a beautiful poem. It got striked to my mind as soon as i heard the song Guptagamini sung by Ashwath C, one of its kind. The video of this song is available in Youtube. I am in Korea, and this song took me back to my land. Even kannada being the third language of my option in my school days, it has always been a language which i have more loved. Sanskrit kannada and telugu are the languages which i like the most in their order. Sanskrit is still hidden to me, as it would take much time to explore this as a language. the etimology in sanskrit makes my approach to it a little slow. But kannada has always been my language of expression and enjoyment. Most of the keertanas of Carnatic classical music are in telugu which i enjoy. hence this is also a language of my liking. Kannada is my mouthertounge. I have a strange affection to this language. i have written some small articles in kannada for me alone. They were a product of my philosophical studies.

kannada as a language has its richness form a very long time. whether it was Pampa, Harihara, Kumara vyasa or TaRaSu, AaNaKru, Bendre, DVG to the recent GSS, their gift to kannada is memorable. To name them pages are not sufficient. When ever i used to listen to the Kumaravyasa Vachana Bharatha, DVG's Kagga or bhavageethe's written by great one's, i always used to enjoy the richness of this language. It would make me feel, how poets can think which is out of context to we SW engineers. These people have always enriched the beauty of this language. Mankuthimmana Kagga is no less a Gita to a common man. Brahmanandaji of Chinmaya mission says so. philosophically people can reach its epitome with this great work. The greatest epic india has ever seen is Mahabharatha even this is made to glitter in Kannada by Narayanappa who was called Kumara vyasa. That speaks all. novelists like Triveni, Dr.Anupama Niranjan, Sayisuthe, TK Rama Rao had grabbed the hearts of housewives and unforgattable SLByrappa for his complex social and intercommunal stories. To show sahitya and sangeeta go hand in hand Hamsageethe or Sandhyaraga of TaRaSu and AaNaKru's contribution are unforgettable. In all fields whether social, economical, cultural, spiritual, Philosophical and any other, kannada has a special place in the heart of language lovers.


Dasa sahitya and vachana sahitya created a bhakti movement in karnataka. Purandara dasa was called the sangeeta pitamaha as he simplified the carnatic classical music.His works have a number which we can never think off, that is 4 lakh 75 thousands devaranama's. Everytime i think of this, i try to calculate the average number of songs he used write everyday. Lambodara lakumikara is the first song that is taught in Carnatic classical music. This should always make us all feel proud. Ofcorse Vachana sahitya did not much popularise in classical music but has an eminent position and has been a roadlamp for many. Krishnaa nee begane baaro is a common performance people would opt in all schools of dance. Spiritually all this have taken the language so far that, i feel gods love listening songs in this language alone.


usually if something can make an impact on people it is media and films. Nagendra Rao is like bhishma in our film industry. B R Panatalu was another person we all should remember, being a person from Andhra the clarity in the kannada language he had was amazing, under his tenure too cinema industry saw its peak. Revolution began with Putanna. he is one man kannada film indusrty should always remember. He is never made the second till date. He was and is an unconqured emperor of this industry. If our movies were made so intelectual and philosophical the credit is always in the bowl of GV Iyer. Girish Kasaravalli, nagabharana are others who have devoted themselves for this field. I was once seeing the award ceremony of NDTV which had presented awards to all serials that had made its name in the silver screen. Right from Buniyad, Humlog and many more. it is quite austonishing for me as Malgudi days of Shankar nag was not a part of it. It would be a blunder if at all Indian TV industry forgets such a masterpiece.
the songs of any cinema before early ninties were so pleasing and heartfelt. Olavina poojege olave mandaara(sakshatkara), deena naa bandiruve(Sandhyaraga), Hindustaanavu yendu mareyada (Amrutha galige), Bidigeya Bimbaa dharadali, Bharatha bhoo shira many many such melodies have made a special place in my heart. I seriously doubt if at all other languages can produce this beauty. I feel so because we hear a roar of sahitya and sangeeta combined so well that it can be compared to water that flows out of KRS dam with gates opened. Vijaynarasimha, Hunasuru and kanagal Prabhakara shastry are my fav lycrisist. Cinema industry can become complete only if Dr.Rajkumar is remembered. Annavru used to stress on good movies, songs and actions. After him industry has just seen darkness.

Rangabhumi a pre-cinema stage has also been an active member in promoting the culture and glory of kannada. I have only heard of gubbi Veranna but not seen him. we friends use to tease each other as Gubbi if any of us tried overacting. My uncle used to tell me about Sadarame in which Veeranna had acted and directed by honnappa bhagavatar. If we all can remember him even today i wonder what was the fame he had. Drama's like lanchavatara played by master herannaiah or typical Kailasam by C R Simha makes us involve so much in it. This stage has been a place from which many of our old timers in cinema industry have made name and fame. Girish karnad, nagabharana, Aruna kalavidalru, Prabhat kalavidaru and many troops have still kept this art alive and are serving kannada.

Yakshagana and classical music always speaks about the strong and an invinsile culture that has been promoted from ages. My awareness is quite less in Yakshagna. This is a culture found more in coastal part of Karnataka. i come form bangalore and somehow never got chances to either see or know about this. I am a great fan of classical music. Music is an unseperable companion i have since my father passed away. i was in my standard 9th when this happened. Ours was a lower middle class family then. In the next doors we had my father's brothers who belonged to a higher class of the soceity. Me and my sister would always see them enjoying and feel bad that we had no such privilage. It was then my mother who introduced music as our companion. She made us listen so many old songs, devotional songs that where ever i used to get an empty cassette i would run to a music shop close by and get some songs recorded. this music made me forget all other things that i used to feel bad for. later me and my brother in-law started collecting and listening to classical music. Now this classical music is a part of my daily activity. The interest grew so much on this, i forgot listening to movie song. Mysore Vasudevacharya, veene sheshanna, Doraswamy iyyangar,chwodayya are the great mastero's of this kannada land. the greatest composition of Vaggeyakara vasudevacharya "Brochevarevaru ra" i think is know to all. RK Srikantan, Vidyabhushana, MS Sheela and others have changed the format of the Kacheri by singing even varnas and keertanas in kannada. An absolute kannada kacheri. Here i remember the humbleness of this great musician RK Srikantan. He is awarded with the higherst in music the "Sangeeta kalanidhi". Once i was in Inida and it was my fortune to attend his concert that took place in the school where i had studied. After the concert i had a chance to touch his humble feet and get blessings. At this time my grandfather introduced me to the mastero and said he stays in Korea, he has come on a vacation and it was his wish to attend your concert. The Mastero with a small smile on his face said "If at all I and music is alive it is because of people like you". these are the words i could not forget. it was something that I had never thought of. Simplicity has made that man reach his glory. So are the poeple of this land. Hindustani, i first listened was with my aunty who was in the next door. After this my interest has never seen that side as carnatic did. But people like Gangubai Hangal, Bhimsen Jhosi are always in limelight.

In the recent years hasya has become more populor. Thanks to people like Aradya, Krishne Gowda, Richards, Pranesh who have made us laugh and enjoy. If at all we all could hear of Beechi it was because of these people. This is again a good move in the direction of growth this language can see.

All these years i had always heard and praised this language. It is true but unfortunate that our people in the recent years have lost interest in this. i dont oppose the recent craze what parents have towards convents. But i strongly feel irrespective of the school, it lies within us to teach the baby this language, not just to talk. I doubt that recent generation have such interests, even if they have probably the assignments or the projects that are loaded on the children does not permit them. i still remember my grandma singing lullabies in kannada like "yakalave yele ranga" or "Jo Jo laali" or "chinni Krishna muddu Krishna". the recent mothers are quite unaware of these songs and what remains are english lullabies. if parents do this how can a child ever grow with kannada as its mothertounge. Sudha, taranga are replaced by Womens era or Good house keeping. I dont understand if the quality of these kannada books have come down or people in the name of modernisation are going out of this.

I have no intrest in watching kannada movies in the recent days. It is a matter of shame to see people in cinema's who can never diffierentiate hrasva sawras and dheerga swaras. Aa and Haa are the same for them. with a least knowledge of the language and highest level of arrogance and ignorance people call themselves as movie makers. My heart wept the day i heard the song "Taliban alla alla". U remember the songs that i have quoted on the top. How complimentory each of these are.

i had attended a rajyotsava festival celebrated in korea. people gathered there were so called fanatics of this language. They were much rational in their thoughts and fundamentalists to the core. They had an impression that the people of Karntaka should be forced to use this as a language for all their activities. Not only they even others share the same. but i differed from them and spoke for 30 minutes. i asked who all can recognise mangeshwara rao or govinda pai or any other poet. Do all the people who had gathered there used kannada lullabies to make thier baby sleep, how many tried to put thier feeling in kannada. How many housewives were reading novels and i was worried to see none practiced this. We usually talk more but practiece less. Rather i want each to practiece this at their home. If done so we kannada people should not worry that our language is drowing. As said "Uadayavaagali namma cheluva kannada naadu" is a song that can be sung any time and any day. This is always a rising language but should be directed by all of us.

Neglect movies which have no message but for vandalism involved. Do not listen to songs that has kannada used in a ratio 1:10 with english. bring in an awareness within our families to use kannada, make wives read good novels. Teenagers are so facinated with the song"Nothing's going to change my love for u" which is 30 years old but why they are not aware of KS Narasimhaswamy's mysoru mallige. It all lies in how we imbibe our culture. A human is always recognised by his culture. Let us grow Kannada as a big tree. People later should never feel what I feel today for this language.

P kalinga rao, Shivmoga subanna, Ashwath C and Mysore Ananthaswamy should never be forgotten . More and more such people should come and glorify this language. i hope we understand the necessity at this hour. As NissarAhemad said "Nityotsava", let us celebrate it every day and let this language get more Jnana peeta's.
